Advantages of Glamping Safari Tent
There's lots of living space
Safari tents offer a lot of space, a lot more space than other glamping options, which is ideal if you are camping with a family or large group. Rather than finding yourself cooped up and limited on space, you can relax in an area that is spacious and spread out.
Comfortable accommodation
A safari tent offers a great deal of comfort, meaning you are sure to enjoy a comfortable stay throughout the duration of your glamping trip. This includes comfortable beds, living areas to relax and soft furnishings.
Ideal for families and groups holidaying together
Glamping is extremely fun to do as a group, which is why it's a popular choice for families and friends holidaying together. Safari tends are ideal as they can accommodate many people, meaning that staying together under one roof is an option. There's no need to book multiple rooms.
Fully equipped with everything you need
A lot of people make the mistake of assuming that going glamping means going without a handful of things, but this isn't the case in a safari tent. Safari tents are fully equipped with everything you need for an enjoyable stay, including high quality kitchen and bathroom facilities.
What the Glamping Safari Tent Experience Requires
Luxurious sleeping areas
When thinking of camping, many people think of sleeping mats and sleeping bags, which can certainly have its appeal, however, in many cases it is not exactly the most relaxing way to spend the night. In a safari tent, neither the tedious inflating of air mattresses that turn out to be too short nor the weird feeling associated with sleeping in a sleeping bag are necessary any longer.
Instead, in a safari tent, comfortable beds are available. Depending on the equipment, these can be double beds, single beds or bunk beds in various combinations. This way, couples and solo travellers, the whole family or groups can enjoy a relaxing break in a safari tent. Duvets and the like are often ready at hand. For more privacy, the sleeping areas are usually separated from the living area.
Plenty of space
One of the biggest advantages of a safari tent is probably its size. On the one hand, this helps provide space for the comfortable equipment of the glamping accommodation. On the other hand, the generous space available ensures that everyone can feel comfortable right from the start and everyone has enough space – even if the weather is not the best.
In case of rain, it is no problem to stay indoors or on the covered wooden terrace furnished with garden furniture. Good weather and sunshine during the holiday would of course be ideal – however, with a safari tent you can make the most of your time, even if it rains.
Safari tent sanitary facilities
Another point that makes a safari tent special and at the same time shows the difference between glamping and camping: The sanitary facilities. Here too, glamping meets significantly higher demands. Not only do they have to be very well maintained – most safari tents even havea private bathroom.
This means that there is no need to trudge to an outside sanitary facility while at the same time the necessary privacy is ensured, allowing for hotel feeling in a safari tent surrounded by nature.
Extensive facilities
Space, comfortable beds and, in many cases, even a private bathroom, are only some of the facilities of a safari tent.
A freshly brewed coffee in the morning or a small hot snack during the day? No problem: A fully equipped kitchen in the form of a kitchenette in the tent makes these things possible. Gas stoves, kettles and microwaves are often part of the equipment, so you can easily cater to your needs and those of others.
There is also a power connection in safari tents, so that all devices can be charged and operated – a real plus, especially in case of bad weather. Safari tents can also be heated, often via infrared. This ensures a pleasant temperature inside, even if it is cooler outside. By the way, this makes safari tents attractive destinations even in the low season – some glamping accommodations are even winter-proof.
That certain something
Last but not least, glamping tents and luxurious safari tents have the great advantage that they can be set up practically anywhere. This means that attractive leisure activities can often be found nearby. These can be a bike rental, a boat rental, sports fields or simply stunning nature, for example with a view of the mountains or a lake.
Some glamping providers also score points with extras such as hot tubs. Covered areas such as a lounge, a terrace or a gazebo extend the space for and scope of leisure activities: In such places, programs such as yoga courses can be enjoyed. This gives the entire place a unique flair and there is always something to discover or try.
How to Choose Glamping Safari Tent

Style
Safari tents have a classic and elegant look that blends well with any natural setting. In addition, they can be painted in different colors or patterns to match your brand identity or theme.
Comfort
With high ceilings, large windows, screened doors, and ventilation openings, safari tents are designed for optimal comfort. They can be furnished with high-quality furniture, carpets, lighting, and accessories to create a cozy and inviting atmosphere. They can accommodate full-size beds, sofas, tables, chairs, kitchenettes, bathrooms, and even fireplaces. Plus, they have insulation and air conditioning options that can keep the tent warm in winter and cool in summer.
Durability
Made of heavy-duty PVC or canvas fabrics and strong frames, safari tents can withstand harsh weather conditions and wear and tear. They also have waterproof roofs, floors, and walls that can protect the tent from rain, snow, wind, and dust.
Versatility
Safari tents are suitable for many kinds of locations and terrains. They can be set up on the flat or sloped ground, on wooden platforms or concrete slabs, or even on stilts or wheels. Whether you want to set up your glamping site near the ocean, in the mountains and forests, or in a city garden, safari tents are up for the challenge.
Eco-Friendly
Safari tents are not only beautiful and comfortable but also eco-friendly and sustainable. They use fewer resources such as water, energy, and materials compared to conventional buildings or RVs. Plus, they blend in with the natural surroundings rather than disrupting them.
Convenience
Safari tents are easy to install, maintain, and transport. And they can be easily dismantled and moved around if you want to change your location or expand your business.
Materials Used In Glamping Safari Tent
Glamping safari tent fly's (outer weather proof shell) are usually made of nylon, polyester or a mixture of both. Polyesters are inexpensive to produce, do not absorb moisture and have high resistance to UV radiation. Nylons provide high tensile strength but also absorb moisture and are very susceptible to the chemical degradation caused by UV light. However, most fabrics are now coated with various Polyvinylchloride (PVC) or Silicone polymers which have made the two fabrics very similar in quality and performance. PU and Silicone coatings are far more common in today's safari tent as although PVC is an excellent barrier to water vapour, it is heavy, and is particularly inflexible at low temperatures. Whether you chose a tent with a nylon or a polyester fly it doesn't really matter too much (manufacturers often have both nylon and polyester tents in their range and/or vary which fabric type they use depending on new technologies, availability and pricing). In short, tent fabrics are continually under review.
The floor fabrics of tents are generally made in heavier fabrics with additional waterproof coating to make them more durable and watertight. Heavier weight nylons and polyesters are typically used in combination with a PVC coating.
Site preparation
The ideal tent site will have good sun exposure, natural water drainage away from the tent, is free of foliage (whether that's large tree limbs or tall grass), located in a natural breezeway and is of course on flat ground. Each of these features helps to combat the growth of mold, enemy to canvas.
Building a wood platform helps to raise a tent off of the ground, away from standing water and mud. If a platform isn't an option, then laying down quarter minus gravel is a great affordable base to create good water drainage. We would also suggest a tent fly.
Strongly consider a tent fly cover to extend the life of your canvas by providing protection from long-term exposure UV rays, discourage your canvas from long-term dampness, and also help to insulate your tent during hot or cold temperatures. A fly cover can even be temporarily installed when your bell tent is not in use to give your tent extra life and reduce exposure from Mother Nature.
Regular maintenance
Rain, birds, trees, leaves wind and the sun will impact the condition of your bell tent after your initial set it up. You will want to monitor and care for your canvas tent regularly to maximize the return on your investment.
Don't leave your tent set-up and unattended for multiple days/weeks in a row. Any problem that problem that happens will only get worse each day that passes.
Ensure that guy line ropes are extended properly.
Reduce humidity being trapped inside the tent by increasing air circulation or adding heat. Open windows, regularly run a fan or periodically use a heater, dehumidifier or A/C unit to dry out the inside. Avoid cooking or leaving wet items inside.
Cut back all foliage - at least 2-3 feet from the canvas of your tent. Avoid allowing damp grass or leaves from having prolonged contact with the canvas.
Retreat the waterproofing of your canvas after every 12-16 weeks of continuous use (especially in humid climates) with 303 Fabric Guard to repel moisture. It is time if water does not bead and roll off the canvas.
Quickly clean off mildew, tree sap, dirt, leaves or bird dropping with Mold & Stain Remover (and apply 303 Fabric Guard afterwards).
Regularly tighten guy lines and re-drive in the pegs as needed.
Take your tent down when it won't be used for several weeks in a row.
Anticipate antagonists
Critters and snow are just couple of foes that you will want to plan on keeping at bay. Raccoons, squirrels, mice and bears may be envious of your cozy shelter, but generally will stay away. However, they will become curious and attempt to claw their way in if you keep food, beverages, or other appetizing scents inside of your tent.
Bell tents can do well in the snow if you are able to monitor them regularly and keep your glamping safari tent sound. Just a few inches of snow can add over 2,000 lbs. of snow load to the center pole, which is enough to cause the pole to bend, break or pierce through the ceiling. Therefore, we'd recommend periodically cleaning snow from the roof as it accumulates, or heating up the tent to help the snow to melt off.
The Production Process of Glamping Safari Tent
Design and Conceptualization
Creating a tent begins with a vision. Designers and architects collaborate to conceptualize a tent that embodies functionality, aesthetics, and the specific requirements of the client. For luxury resort tents, the focus is not only on providing a comfortable shelter but also on delivering an exceptional and memorable experience.
Selection of Materials
The choice of materials significantly impacts the durability, appearance, and performance of a tent. High-quality fabrics such as canvas, polyester, and nylon are commonly used. Canvas provides a classic and authentic feel, while polyester and nylon offer lightweight and waterproof options. The selection of materials also considers factors like weather resistance, fire retardancy, and Eco-friendliness.
Frame Construction
The framework of a tent determines its structure and stability. For Swiss Cottage and Safari tents, a sturdy and robust frame is essential. Manufacturers in Dehradun often utilize materials like galvanized steel, aluminum, or bamboo to create frames that can withstand varying weather conditions while maintaining an elegant appearance.
Fabric Cutting and Sewing
The selected fabric is then cut and sewn according to the tent's design. Precision and attention to detail are crucial during this step to ensure the fabric pieces align correctly, creating a seamless and tight fit. Expert seamstresses and tailors meticulously stitch together the panels, incorporating reinforcements and waterproofing techniques.
Waterproofing and Treatment
One of the critical aspects of tent production is waterproofing. The fabric undergoes treatments to enhance its resistance to moisture and UV rays. This step is particularly essential for Safari tents, which are often used in outdoor and safari settings where protection from the elements is paramount.
Assembly and Installation
Once the fabric is prepared, it's time to assemble the tent. The frame is erected, and the fabric is draped over it. This step requires precision and teamwork to ensure the tent is properly aligned and tensioned. The assembly process might involve additional elements like zippers, windows, doors, and ventilation systems.
Quality Control and Testing
Before the tent is ready to be shipped to its destination, it undergoes rigorous quality control checks. These checks encompass aspects like fabric tension, frame stability, waterproofing effectiveness, and overall construction integrity. Ensuring the highest quality standards is crucial to guarantee the longevity and performance of the tent.
Customization and Finishing
For luxury resort tents, customization plays a pivotal role. Interior design elements like flooring, furnishings, lighting, and decor are carefully selected to complement the tent's aesthetic and create a lavish ambiance. This step involves collaborating with interior designers to achieve a harmonious and inviting space.
Packaging and Shipping
With the tent now complete, it's time for packaging and shipping. The tent components are carefully packed to ensure their safety during transit. Depending on the size and complexity of the tent, shipping might involve multiple packages. Attention to packaging ensures that the tent arrives in pristine condition at its destination.
Installation at the Destination
Once the tent reaches its intended location, the final step is installation. Experienced technicians from the manufacturer work on-site to assemble the tent according to the specifications and design. This step requires coordination and expertise to ensure that the tent is set up securely and precisely.
